Location

Canvey Island is located in the district of Castle Point and county of Essex. Nearby towns include Basildon (7 miles) to the north, Stanford le Hope (11 miles) and Southend on Sea (14 miles) to the East. Access into the town is via the A130 and A13. The town has a district population of 86,608, with a population within 10km of the Centre of 318,868 (FOCUS 2001).

The new relief road, Roscommon Way Extension, has now been passed and Phase I is programmed for completion in March 2011, which will enhance the location and increase traffic generation.
